Nasi lemak

I ordered a nasi lemak with ayam goreng berempah (RM15.90). It's a rather new stall. (A lot of stalls have closed, so those in some of my older posts may no longer be there any more.) I thought it was a Malay stall, but it turned out to be a non-pork-free stall.

It was pretty good. An L-shaped chicken drumstick, a not-too-big portion of rice, and what I would call a full set of nasi lemak with three slices of cucumber, groundnuts and fried ikan bilis (they're crispy!), sambal, and even papadam.

The sambal was nice but not very spicy, but somehow my friends said that the spice kicked in after a while. I felt it wasn't enough; I even took some from them. Next time I'll have to ask for extra sambal. :P

Pak Tam mee udang

A famous stall that I have never visited. So I took the chance to try it out at Bayana. (This seems to be one of the rare stalls that doesn't have its price marked up compared to the original branch.) The mee kuah udang tastes the best.  (that's a bowl, not a shallow plate) The dry version below is less good. The cucur udang, which is really crispy, but I don't feel it is that good...pretty normal. And nasi goreng udang, on a day when I didn't feel like eating noodles. The nasi goreng is not that special, but the four prawns came with some kuah, and mixing that into the rice made it a lot better. (It's all about the prawny gravy!)
