The Bayana blog

Food Bayana is close by my office, making it a go-to when I need a quick meal nearby. This blog is just a record of the stalls I have tried, with what I think of the food. It might be interesting to see how many stalls I have tried. ✺ Some stalls are without photos because I sometimes didn't take any before I started this blog. ✺ I will update the existing posts if I try anything else from the same stall. ✺ I won't bother jotting down the prices, but they are all on the high side.

Penang Road Famous Laksa

This should be from the stall next to the teochew cendol on Penang Road.

Pretty good, but just like normal laksa, I guess.

Po Po fried oyster

Sorry, no photo. This was so-so.

Japanese ramen

Forgot to take a photo when I tried the unagi ramen. It was mediocre ramen, as expected from a food court.

Pak Tam mee udang

A famous stall that I have never visited. So I took the chance to try it out at Bayana. (This seems to be one of the rare stalls that doesn't have its price marked up compared to the original branch.) The mee kuah udang tastes the best. (that's a bowl, not a shallow plate) The dry version below is less good. The cucur udang, which is really crispy, but I don't feel it is that good...pretty normal. And nasi goreng udang, on a day when I didn't feel like eating noodles. The nasi goreng is not that special, but the four prawns came with some kuah, and mixing that into the rice made it a lot better. (It's all about the prawny gravy!)
